what's sooooo wrong with me?
It seems like everytime I try to talk to people, esp females I end up in rejection. I can somewhat interact with guys well but with females I see to turn them off or creep them out when I think I am being friendly. does anyone else get ingored by most females?

There's a very subtle difference between friendly and creepy. I have yet to figure out exactly where that line is, but it doesn't matter because I know I'm way past it anyway.

This is something I'm trying to figure out too... I'm slowly getting better at it.
But not great, and I don't think I ever want to be great at talking with women... I just don't understand them that much.
I have a natural smile and happy go lucky style about me... so when I'm comfortable this comes through... and women can sense this. But when I'm nervous and confused, and look like I don't belong... well women pick up on this attitude too.
I've started to make more jokes or spread humor, this really helps. You just have to make sure they actually recognize it as a joke, if it's too subtle... well nothing happens and you'll look stupid.

Those were my thots exactly. I keep stumbling across that line. When I try to overcompensate, then I have to worry about crossing the line between friendly and indifferent. Some people say I'm too anxious and assertive (and creepy). Other's say I'm too reluctant and inactive. It's so hard to find the space inbetween.

I have to say, they really seemed to take an interest in me for a while, when I had a period of unusual confidence, starting in high school and ending sometime during my first year of college. But I wasn't looking for a relationship, so I just didn't pursue them, and that seemed to make them try even harder.
That, or maybe it was that we passed the time sitting in front of the library and hunting for penises in my art history book.
Is penis hunting an acceptable courtship activity?

Yeah, not being interested in them... and talking to girls anyways... that's one of the more popular styles.
Comfort is everything, I don't even think it's about confidence. I'm not super arrogant, think I'm better than every one else sort of person... but I'm not a fall on every word a girl says sort of guy either. A girl just today said she liked my hair, and said I should dye it. I just responded quickly "yeah, I'm not going to do that." in a casual matter of fact way.
I think this combination makes me more appealing, non threatening and 'nice'... but I am not falling over women for their approval.
I haven't tried the genitalia book approach... don't think that would work for me. Not saying I don't see the brilliance in it though... diabolical even..

The whole idea of trying to think of how to be accepted by women or asking the question what is wrong with me is the main cause of the problem. Everyone now days thinks they have to try and find a way to become suitable to women and its a complete joke, do you ever hear women saying how do I get men to notice me or why do I creep men out.
This is the way I see it, the world is changing really fast and in a dark way, being nice to women is increasingly becoming a creepy thing to do mainly due to the fact that because women have found a kind of equal part in socoligical functions they behave more like men now and see the whole courtship ritual as a sporting challange or game. When you behave well and show a kind of pleasent caring attitude you automatically mess up all rules and that puts a end to the game causing a confusion within.
Also one the greatist problems I have found is that there is a resentment about women not wanting to be treated with a kind of romantic respect because it gives a solid clue of not being trusted mainly due to the fact that most men now day's also pretend to be romantic and then destroy the females perspective of trust especially within the game play. Women tend to fear the idea of respect and the biggest problem is that aspies tend to really be honest and caring which causes an unfortunate clash with the courtship or friendship ritual system.
One other major problem is that this all stems from mainstreem politics and media control in which women are easily corrupted by the sensationilism of the idea of relationship in which a new corrupt ideal as emerged that fuels materialistic and shallow game agenda against the more natural communication systems. I have noticed though that over the internet when the masks have been taken down and intimacy seems more easy to establish then there is a major difference to outside social game play to virtual space game play.
In the end just try and develop yourself and don't try to hard to focus on others which is hard i agree but learning to love one's self is more important in the long term anyway.
To add just one more thing to this issue, movies still try and make us belive in the idea of romanticisim which fuels us to put this ideal into our subconcious without realising that that one ideal could be a possiblity but sadly I think society will close its doors to a special profound love and if you have noticed we now have lust. For example David Beckham as become a symbol of the perfect man but yet the romance you see on the screen is all a fiction and if he wasnt of high wealth and postion then he would just become mr average.

re- the bit I put in bold, no you probably don't hear them talking about that, we only say these things between ourselves. But women have insecurities too.

You do hear women complaining about not being able to find a 'good' man. And those with low self esteem especially seem to have problems with creeping guys out.
There is a cliché of the woman who comes on too strong, and introduces the guy to her parents. And starts acting like they are going to be married next week.
The social rules are all twisted, messed up, changing constantly and frequently contradict themselves. Plus to really follow along, you have to be on the pulse of culture...it's like a metagame of a game. Which will make it hard if not impossible for those with AS to follow all the rules.
But that doesn't mean those with AS can't create their own rules. If an AS guys actions says, I may not act like anyone else but I like the way I am...and my way is just as good or maybe better. Well you might get the curious girl out there to follow along. Use your AS ways to be unpredictable...
Disregard for social rules and independence is an attractive thing. Those with AS are better served by following this route. But the key is presenting it in an appealing way, which is best served by being comfortable with your own self.

Yeah, I guess I can't seem creepy if I'm ignoring them.
Good response I think it's important that you assert yourself. And that's the thing. It wasn't an inordinate amount of confidence that I had. It's just that I usually have none, and being very timid doesn't impress anybody. It's just that I became confident enough to be comfortable with myself, and that seems to make other people more comfortable around you. Unfortunately, I can't often hold onto that.
That's good because I'm pretty sure that falling all over anybody for their approval is well beyond that line between friendly and creepy.
Honestly, I don't think there was any brilliance in it, at least not on my part. She just asked me what I was studying, so I showed her. There are plenty of genitalia in art history, and about as much innuendo to be found in the study of Hellenic art, which is what I was reading at the time. But she was amused by it, so we just kept looking for more.

I have found social interaction with females quite hard in the past, mostly getting by on luck or humor for the ones that continue to speak to me. With my girlfriend - on the day we met, apparently I barely spoke any words at all and she thought I wasn't interested in her.
I suppose in many ways I would say if they get scared then it's not worth it because it's possible other social problems could become a problem in the future if she doesn't take them right.
