I joined one a while back and most of the people were older (though not all!). The people there were fine but it wasn't really for me, especially after one year.

I was in one once. It wasn't bad, but most of the folks there were lower-functioning than I was. We were also given paper work to fill out during each session. Basically, it was about learning how to make friends and how to deal with society. However, I believed that the greatest learning tool was experience. I basically stopped going by the time I was a senior in high school.

iceb organises regular meet-ups in London.

Go to the Sticky: Meet-up thread.

I was lucky enough to meet a few London WP'ers when I was in London.

The closest one to me is in Fort Worth, 100 miles away.

I'll be moving to a school south of Austin this fall, though.

I attend one every Thursday evening for 1 hour. It's for teenagers with AS/HFA to learn/practise/discuss social skills and other topics that surround todays youth. I've been there 5 times and am quite enjoying it.

Wish there was something like that in Cambridge. I went to the first London meet-up, but it'd just be nice to have something more local and more frequent.

I live in North London, but I'm willing travel to anywhere within London as the buses are free for under 18's. But I'd prefer somewhere near where I live to save journey time.

Please be careful disclosing too much about where you are. Let the other tell you where the meetings are. They don't need to know where you are to do that. : ) They might be another Jack the Ripper. :D
