Aspie for the Lord, you're back! I haven't seen you in forever. And I still have not received the results of your research!

You're not alone...I'd imagine many people here were unpopular in school. At least high school doesn't last forever.

I frequently find myself asking myself the same question. I don't think it's merely because I have Asperger's. I think it's an issue of who's bothered by my AS traits and who's not. In Cincinnati, OH, USA, nearly everyone is bothered by my AS traits.

I sign very well. I've known sign language for 11 years now. But the Deaf of Cincinnati, OH, USA want nothing to do with me. All they ever wanna do is work. They wonder why they can't have friends. Simple...they work too much. Every minute of every waking hour 7 days a week is too damn much! But the reason I haven't had friends in 4 years...too many people in Cincinnati, OH, USA are so ignorant to refuse to learn to understand AS and therefore me the person.

find other aspies to befriend-observe and identify them.

The key is, that admittly, we may not really have any freinds, but is that not what this community on line is for? If you want, you might find insight at me blog found here on this site..

Something to remember...
Most teenagers don't have lots of "friends"...they have lots of people who they talk to and think are their friends...when really, they're not! LOL.

You'll make friends eventually. It's just a matter of being around the right people...people who accept you for you, and don't try to change you.

I can be your friend if you like, I know how it feels to not have any friends. My only two friends at the moment are members of this forum. I've gone back to college and after three months, I haven't made one friend there.

Welcome to high school. Conformity is desired, so anyone who is different will stick out like a sore thumb... people will learn to appreciate eccentricities as they mature.
I didn't have any friends in high school either. You're not alone. It gets better, believe me.

Get talking to people, it's the best way - if you think you have got something in common or you could make a chat/effort then go for it. I have 2 close real life friends which is ok but sometimes I am alone which is annoying.

I didn't have any real friends, as a teenager. In fact, I didn't have any real friends, until I've moved out, at the age of 32. It does get better, believe me. Some people are just meant to have friends, later in life, than other people are.

Yeah, I've never had lots of friends. I like it that way tho. I prefer to have 1-3 tight friends and thats about it. Any more than that gets too stressful to keep up with.
