I used to use IMs often but stopped using them since they've given me security nightmares and have often locked up my system.

I have no problems with AIM or MSN(Windows Live Messager) at all.

Hell no. Nothing personal, it's just that the last time I used AIM I was spammed by viagra ads. Admittedly that was like 8 years ago, but still, anything associated with AOL is basically garbage by default.

i dont do any of the instint messengers. i keep in contact with my family and friends online though my fire agate message board
1, its more convienaint, 2, ive always liked message boards and never really got into other forms of communicating

If you have a Mac you should use iChat, it seems more stable with AIM.
