I was just curious, but has anyone here ever been the bully, instead of the bullied?

I never was really a bully until high school. I was being bullied all through Freshman year. Then sophmore year I met this guy named Ryan and thats pretty much when I became a bully. I initiated so many fights that year...

I guess I mostly behaved that way because it scared people and if people fear you then they leave you alone. I feel that I missed out on a lot of things during my high school years because of the fact that I was one of the most feared people in the school (mostly because of wearing all black, pentagrams, death metal, and not to mention Columbine happening that same year).

Any other bullies here? 8)

I liked teasing people when I was growing up so yeah I was a bully. I did things and didn't know when to stop, I liked drawing attention and didn't know when to stop. I liked getting peoples reactions. I also would find kids to pick on because I was trying to be like everyone else. I thought if they see me bullying, they would think I was just as good as them and not stupid and they would accept me and like me. I also picked on my bullies, I would chase them, touch them so they would freak out about my germs since they were always saying "Beth germs" and staying away from me and saying "blackout forever."
Then when I moved to Montana, I was being picked on by other kids so I would defend myself but no, they were innocent because they were doing things to get me to notice them and I took it all personal so I was the bully.

Yes, all through grade school. I am in high school, too. It's mainly about my height, or pretty much any mistake I make. Thankfully, I was never beaten up. Terrible kids.........

I was bullied all through elementary school and was called a loser in middle school. Middle school was pretty sad for me. I mean it wasn't bad to the point where I got into drugs/sex/etc, or any of those things, but I was lonely completely. Even though people told me they were my friend or were nice to me because I didn't make fun of them, none of us really ever did anything together outside of school. So I can't say I had any "best friends" in middle school.

High school isn't really that bad, but of course, I'm home schooled part time so I guess you could call me lucky. Although, even if I wasn't homeschooled, it's not very common in this particular school to actually make fun of you. Though maybe if you're hyper or act all mean then people will start saying, "Wow...you're ret*d..". And this of course is when the teachers aren't around.

The minuses to my high school though is that because it's a private, religious school it tries to be "perfect" so when someone acts out, people can go "WTH?" And in high school, I really don't have any friends that I actually go out and do stuff with. I always had to direct conversations anyway, so it gets annoying and tiring.

So was I ever a bully? Maybe once or twice in elementary school, but no I really tired hard to laugh or be mean at anyone. Simply because I knew what that was like. I just thought, "Well, if I don't like being treated cruelly, why would I be a bully to anyone?"

Addendum. In college, I finally stood up to my bully in my house. In fact, I beat him up (without throwing a punch). Embarrassed the guy to everyone in the house. He later appeared at my door in tears, but still insisted I was weird.

In another instance, the guy stood on my foot--I remembered a judo move my friend taught me in first grade--and the guy was on the floor and I had him in a choke hold.

Otherwise, I'm still bullied.

I was bullied and teased. In high school I got a bit of a backbone and retaliated. Could have been because I was older than everyone in my class. It was a religious school too so it was easy to find weak spots.

In college I got along with people, though still got teased for being quiet.

I was bullied but I was a bully too. I think I was more of a bully than bullied I am not sure. I have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and i acted very borderline as a teenager.
I wasnt at all a manipulative bully but I could turn on my friends very quickly so I didnt keep friends for long. Sometimes I didnt even remember what I did cause meet this girl I use to be friends with at school and she told me she still has scars where i stabbed her
I think Ive grown out of that now.

I was a bit of a bully, in some way to prevent myself from being bullied.

It worked, for the most part. People never really messed with me. There are some things I regret, but I'm trying to put all of that behind me. I do, however, like the fact that people still know not to mess with me. I may have gone about building that reputation for myself in the wrong way, but now I get respect from people that others don't always receive. I guess that's the positive outcome of my former reputation...

I feel I was the same way. I think perhaps being a Goth in high school, was a defense mechanism cause kids then feared me. Of course, that all backfired after Columbine, but really I just wanted people to leave me alone. So if I dressed Goth they did.

I was bullied.

I apparently bullied some people one playtime by making them stand in a corner  but that was because we had a 'club' and I was the leader and they seemed happy with that and they said they wanted to do one thing, and then they didn't want to do the thing they said they wanted to do, so I was like, 'but you said you wanted do [such and such - not sure what]' and they just stood there and didn't say anything. That was really confusing and I didn't get what was going on :? :( I still feel bad about that, but I didn't mean to - they were't making any sense.

I am bullied. It isn't so bad at the moment after I hit out at the people doing the bullying, but I know it won't take long for it to start up again.

I was once warned for 'bullying behaviour', but I don't see how I was being a bully. The person in question had been rude to me, telling me I was saying thinsg from (because of my accent) and all, and then the next day they expected me to be all happy and 'oh it doesn't matter. But I wasn't, and I wasn't overly friendly. Yeah I answered all their questions when they asked them and (attempted) to listen to what they said, but I wasn't overly friendly.

That afternoon I was hauled out in the middle of PE to be warned that I was engaging in Bulling Behaviour. Wrecked the whole last week of term.

People attempt to bully me all the time. No one was ever really successful at it, because I never really react the way they want. I just smile and try to instigate them further. no matter what they say or if they hit me or whatever I never back down. I think I just confuse bullies, because they never were able to get to me. I just liked the attention.

I will only ever bully someone if I perceive them as a bully.
