I need a companion, someone who can be with me, and I can share my life with. I want someone that is basicly someone for me to bewith for the majority of my life, someone who makes me feel less alone, and someone who is there for me as much as I am their for them... I'd prefer a gf for this, but I am not too sure ths will happen for me. Here's an interesting link pretty much showing how I feel: http://xkcd.com/46/

I don't think it's what you're looking for, but feel free to talk to me on aim. My SN is in my profile.
Good luck.

Padium,

I feel as you do, and thank you for sharing this. I just turned 40 and wish
I had the tools available to you (WP, etc) 30 years ago! This is a place to make
friends. Somefriends and I started a "meetup" group in Houston Texas and it
is something that could be done anywhere.

The meetings are a support group. We meet once a month and discuss a
subject related to Apsergers and the challenges we all face. Twelve times
a year does not seem often enought but it's just long enought for the
average Aspergian to not get overloaded, and to really look forward to.

It's a great way to meet Aspergians of the opposite sex (you need to
see the movie "Mozart and the Whale"). The group model is pretty simple
and can be duplicated anywhere. Write me a PM if you want more info.

Just know you are not alone and you have a friend in me!

Padium, you are like my favourite person on this forum.
Aww, cheer up.
I know it is really tough. I wish I could have a partner without having to date a lot of people and end up dissapointed. Not that I'm saying I date a lot. I don't, I just know that if I want to find a life partner I'm going to have to be patient and the boys I meet are not necessarily going to be the one.
You will find what you're looking for. Never give up hope.

I find you interesting as well... Too bad your all the way across the world from me... Oh well. I will probably try to find a group somewhere near me, hopfully within walking distance from the university I attend. I've looked before, and haven't had much luck, but what's to say that next time won't be different. Anyways, I mostly just need to get out and meet people... a very hard thing for me to do.

Pensieve,

Do you have groups like that where you live? I know there is a huge group that exists in
Australia but not sure of the area/city. I've been looking for Canadian groups, but have
not had any immediate luck. I'm wondering if you could help from your end and lets see
if we can get a Canadian group going in Ontario.

Padium,

Will you tell me a bit more about where you live, and the surrounding cities? I have
some contacts that I was not previously aware of and I think I might be able to help
organize a group near you. I just need to know about the area so I find folk close to
you or close to a place you can get to.

=========

Pensieve - that was very sweet, thanks for writing that, we guys need to hear that.
