I read about guy behind this some time ago, and happened upon their website while using stumbleupon.com (which, BTW, is a great way to waste time on web). This is designed to help managers' communication skills but demo is on website. Package costs about 50 bucks. Teaches one how to recognize subtle and not-so-subtle facial non-verbal communications.

I don't know how well this would work for me as I don't really like to even look at peoples faces, at least when they can see mine .

My biggest concern with this is that I think aspies often can not only not "read" subtle expressions but also "express" them differently . I am constantly being misinterpreted by others as being tired, depressed, angry, bored...when I am not feeling this internally . My concern is that people viewing this program, will just further justify their ability to "read me" and think my words are lies when they do not reflect my facial expressions . Not only a concern with teachers but other authority figures....police, judges, bosses . I just wish people would rely more on words....I don't lie with my words but with my face and that is unintended .

This might interest you- my doctor who was the first to notice my Aspie-ness because she has a child with AS told me the best thing was for Aspies to watch Animae. She said the Animae shows extreme or overly pronounced facial expressions and helps her son to recognize the difference in expressions better. Its like the animae relies less on verbal communication than regular shows and uses more facial expression and gesturing to communicate what is going on.
