do you feel more comfortable sitting in a booth or at a table. I find myself preferring booths. Whats your take?

I always sit sideways in a booth, even by myself. Its just more comfortable, at least until the food gets there. I dont know how people sit at a table for every meal. Then again, I eat faster than anyone Ive ever seen!

Booth- it's more intimate, comfortable, and peripheral than open seating.

Booth, for sure!

Esp. if it's against the wall.

I'd much prefer a booth, but most of the time they have couch like seats which I can't sit on.

Booth for me too. They are more comfortable to me, plus I get the feel of more privacy as your not so in the 'open', and that also makes me feel better.

a booth, against a wall if possible, away from other patrons if possible, with low light and no obnoxious music playing if possible.
i got all of these this evening. :)
5:30 pm is a good time for calm dinner at a restaurant.

Another vote for booth. Preferably with a wall to my back and either a wall or window at one of my sides.

All the above posters must be American, since nobody mentioned there are no booths in restaurants in their country. First time I saw booths was in the USA, and loved them. It's like eating on a train, only without the movement. Beats me, however, what they are there for... I suppose it's because the US is so big that restaurants don't agonize about how to best cram as many tables as possible per square meter, unlike my tiny country.

No preference really. But my family and I always opt for a booth when possible since my dad is well over 300 Ibs and could potentially break a chair.
