so i was searching wikipedia recently and i came across this thing called the peter pan syndrome, its a refusel by men to grow up and be mature stop acting childish and take responsibility for their lives...
i looked at that article and though well thats me described.
i think its a trait of my aspergous my refusal to grow up and take on heaps of responsibility i mean.
it's like im 20 now and i still use words like "w00t" and "lol" in casual conversation...
i want to be a kid forever, anyone else feel like this?

If you are acting childish depends a bit on the life you are living. Are you a student or are you having a job or staying at home? For a student childishness is accepted more than for other kinds of people.

And Aspies tend to be a bit backward on social skills, so that would explain a bit.

At twenty I was also feeling a bit like I was seventeen, but when I needed to look for a job I felt a lot older in a few weeks.

I think my yurning to stay a child is like my biggest issue, possably, or at least one of my most intence problums, and is the true reason I obsessed soo much with cute things.

But I think it's more than just the 'cute' thing...I think there are some other 'freedoms' I feel I may have lost.

By the way, I think I once, possably on here, I beleve, read that Peter Pan Syndromers like to take advantage of others... I really hope I never become that way......

You can still be a kid on your time off but it works best putting on a serious cap when it comes to school or work. Then noone but those close to you will really know about your immaturity muhaha You can be a saint at work and a 5 year old at home!

I say lol in conversations to.
I don't think I don't want to grow up. Before as a kid when I moved up a grade I hated leaving my old teachers and classroom. I've always hated change. But now I kind of want to grow up, because I'm seen as younger by my peers.
I like Ben 10 and run around like a maniac with my dog though.

well it did change a bit when i moved out of home for the first time, (im now living back home though :( ) i know that taught me alot about indipendance and such but at the same time i was pretty depressed, and as far as getting a job thats pretty limited for me cause well im just akward around people (as alot of aspies are).
i've just always found myself intreaged by things like alice in wonderland, the lion king and just doing things like running round and being a spaz.

I`ve never tried to hang on to beeing a kid, i`ve
tried more to be as adults are expected to be or
something, but its no way around that i`m just a
32 year old kid...and thats ok :) I live and fend
for myself, have done since i was 16, but i still
feel mostly the same and when i look at the people
i grew up with and how they are/what they do, i just
have no idea what happend to them, i think i might
have taken a different road. I know how to do and act
as adults do and act, but thats in buisness and around
people who are not close to me. Very few know me
well or how i am at heart. And looking like i`m in
my early 20`s doesn`t help, just a big kid...
..and thats ok :) its me, who i am

:rendeer:

And, having all the rights an adult have, i can get drunk, vote,
go to jail and make $ + alot of other things. Not nessecerely in
that order but anyway. If i want to i can build a castle with
lawn on the floors and doors in the ceilings, because whos
gonna stop me? I`m an adult, you cant ground me :)
...and thats ok, i want to live and play. No really, i
swear its ok, everythings gonna be ok, trust me,
i`m an adult

That last pic is so dam cute.

I am a 24 year old guy, and although I try to act like a adult when out in public, when I am by myself, then what does it matter what age I act? When I woke up this morning, I laid there in my jammies, with my stuffed animal under my arm, and watched sponge bob. :D Then I eat my bowl of Lucky Charms, but since it was a new box, I was excited to see if there was a little toy in it........

Laitly this has been a typical day for me, although when I am around people I try to act my age

that people act with their inner child, ineer adult and their inner elderly

I'm 35 and I still "w00t"

And, even though I'm a woman, I've been told I have a Peter Pan complex. And I have to agree.

Even now that I have responsibilities, I really have to take it easy on myself, it gets to be too much really quickly.
