I have AS and I don't entirely get the meaning of confidence. Everyone says to me "All you need is a bit of confidence." My vision of confidense is walking upright with your chest puffed out and head held high. I just struggle understand the meaning of the word. Can anybody here give me more in depth knowledge on what confidence really is?

Believing in yourself. Trust in your own strengths and abilities. Don't just follow other people around and buckle every time you're confronted with a tough situation, tackle it head on! You're probably a much more capable person than you give yourself credit for being.

What you're describing is an image of arrogance.
Self confidence is about faith and optimism about yourself.

confidence is knowing you know how that word is spelled, or that math equation is executed or what the answer is to a trivia question or how to make the best cheesy popcorn in the dorm.

you don't even have to show your talents and expertise to anyone. you just know.

that's confidence.
