virtua fighter is a more technical BEU [Beat Em Ups] with the focus on tactical, skill, and fluid movement, where tekkens' focus is fighting with speed, often resulting in button bashing by people who don't learn moves.

am prefer virtua fighter, find it easier to keep up with,it's harder, but tend to end up playing this longer than tekken.

Street Fighter was,and still is great, but am think they ruined it when they introduced more 3d like graphics-they were horrible to play,
keep it oldskool.
If a fan of 2d BEUs,get a copy of Spectral Vs Generation for ps2,it was a game made on a small budget and is sold cheap in Morrisons, got a good enough review by game central [good enough enough for being a budget game].
it's no way near as good as street fighter II,but it's good enough to add to collection.

TEKKEN. Most addictive game since Tetris.

I perfer Mortal Kombat over all of them. I grew up with that game, been a diehard MK fan almost all my life. Even have an autographed DvD of that sh***y second movie, signed by Robin Shou who played Liu Kang in both those movies.

Tekken is way better for teh gameplay and the characters are all pretty badass and unique. Bad story, but awesome games all around.

I favor Tekken myself. I understand, by the way, that Sega and Namco do actually share at least some aesthetic ideas for those games. They know full well that VF and Tekken don't appeal to the same primary demographic--more of a friendly rivalry than, say Capcom and SNK (or at least how that's appeared here...).

Maybe they'll do a game "tekken vs. VF".... But VF needs to make tons of new (and more entertaining) characters first (and perhaps tekken could also adopt more realistic game play too).
