And in the next two weeks, I'll be off to Texas to be a Render Wrangler...

(yep, that's the real job title - watch the credits of a 3d animated movie someday, they're in there) It's a tech person who monitors and debugs the renderfarm in the wee hours of the morning, after the animators have finished their work, sent it for rendering, and gome home for the night. And once I've demonstrated I'm fully competent at the grunt work, there'll be plenty of chances to move up to being a Renderman shader programmer, my real target.

This is awesome.

So thank you, julieme, for the tips about hunting down companies' core values. Highly useful in prepping and practicing interview scripts. And BeeBee and Ghosthunter for putting up with me when I was freaked out and depressed about ever getting a spot anywhere.

And if anyone knows anything about Dallas/Fort Worth/Irving, by all means, feed my mind more info.

She's a wringle, a ringle rangler rangler, she will
wringle a rangle each and everyday. Those pixels
on the farm will not see her harm a wringled rangled
ringle rangler. Yeee-haww and nieghbor to Magic
as well.

Well, young pixel polker, why not wringle some ranglers
with me and raise a pixel family say's nearby rancher
of pixelized rangles. Lets mingle our pixels and create
some more wranglers.

and....Congraduatlions for wrangling up this ranch of
a opportunity.

That was like some combination of a tongue twister and slam poetry. 8O

Thanks everyone :D

I'm highly excited, this'll be my first "real" job, everything before this has been just piecemeal freelance, and this will be a real production environment.

Wow! Good luck and best of wishes for your new job. I'll be curious as to how it goes for you at your job. I've heard many things (good/bad) about these render farms. . . .
