NFL season is almost here
NFL preseason starts on Monday. Meaning it's only a month until the NFL starts again. Which teams do you think will win their divisions and head to the super bowl? Here are my predictions.
AFC (American Football Confrence)
AFC North -Pittsburgh Steelers. Even though Ben Rothlesberger isn't the best playoff player, he will still have time to grow as a 2nd year NFL player and still make Pitsburgh win the division(11-5 #3 seed).
AFC West - Kansas City Chiefs. Preist Holmes and Tony Gonzales are cool. If they can keep their defense from going sour like they did two years ago, they should be able to squeak by a division win(11-5 #4 seed).
AFC East - New England Patriots. Even though they lost Charlie Weiss to Notre Dame, Romeo Crenell to the Cleveland Browns, Tight End Teddy Brushi to a stroke and Ty Long's status is up in the air, Bill Bellicheck and Tom Brady are a good enough combo they can scrape by for a division title (12-4 #2 seed).
AFC South - Indianapolis Colts. With the changes the Patirots made, it will finally be time for Peyton Manning to go to the Super Bowl. (13-3 #1 seed).
AFC Wild Card - New York Jets. Chad Pennington is a good quarterback. The Jets may not win the division, but I predict they will beat the Patriots at least one time, and that would be a big deal for the Jets (10-6 #5 seed).
AFC Wild Card- Jacksonville Jaguars. Jack Del Rio almost made his team go to the playoffs last year. They even beat the Packers last year in Green Bay when it was 5 degrees outside. I just pray they can sell out their stadium. (10-6 #6 seed).
NFC (National Football Confrence)
NFC West - Saint Louis Rams - Of course it doesn't matter who wins the divison. The NFC West is a joke by itself. (9-7 #4 seed)
NFC South - Atlanta Falcons - As long as Michael Vick doesn't injure himself in the preseason, he can go places. (11-5 #3 seed)
NFC North - Minnesota Vikings - Now that Randy Moss is gone, Daunte Culpepper and his teamates won't have to put up with Moss's childish behavior. (12-4 #2 seed)
NFC East - Philadelphia Eagles - Even if Terrel Owens doesn't come back, the Eagles finally displayed they can finally win the NFC championship game last year. Just do it again this year. (12-4 #1 seed)
NFC Wild Card - Green Bay Packers - Brett Farve is slowing down, but he can still get the job done. (10-6 #5 seed).
NFC Wild Card - Carolina Panthers - Just as long as the injury bug does not haunt the team, Jake Delhome can do it. In fact, I predict the Panters will be the first NFL playoff team to rally from a 0-7 start to make it to the playoffs (9-7 #6 seed).
Super Bowl XL: Indianapolis over Minnesota.
I mean, I like the playoff games, but it takes too long for me to keep interest in it.
ehh, go browns.

I agree, they are my favorite NFL team too. In a perfect world, the Browns would be the #1 seed. I wanted them to win. Everything fell apart when they traded Jeff Garcia to Detroit and Kelly Holcomb to Buffalo. Then Kellen Winslow JR. got in that motorcyle accident. Stupid move to all three. I sure hope they don't wind up in the basement like they have the past two years.

ehh, go browns.

Not as long as the NBA. They start in October and go until the playoffs in June. That's why I don't watch it.
AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers. The loss of Plexico Burress will not be an issue as long as the deal with Hines Ward gets done. Ben Roethlisberger will have another solid year, although his stats will be somewhat down as the division teams have all had at least one look at him, and will be prepared. As in the past, the running game will be the bread and butter of this team. If Staley and Bettis can both stay reasonably healthy they will be an almost unstoppable 1-2 punch, especially behind the best run blocking O-line in the league. As with last season, the Steelers safteys are a bit shakey, but this can be overcome by their stellar D-line and the attack oriented Blitz scheme of Tim Lewis. This is a super bowl team (#1 Seed)
AFC East: New Englan Patriots. This team is so used to winning that I can't immagine them doing anything else. Tom Brady will again put up good numbers, but look for Corey Dillan to carry more of the offence this year. The loss of Tedy Bruschi will be felt on defense, but as in years past Defense will overachieve.
Bill Belichick still has a few tricks up his sleeve, so watch for trickery to earn 1-2 Ws that they might not get otherwise. this team is my #2 seed...they will be formidable, but I just don't think they can 3peet.
AFC South: Tennesse Titans. This is my sleeper pick. According to reports from camp, Steve McNair has dropped 25lbs and conditioned relentlessly in the off season. This should keep him mobile, and he will need to scramble more than a few times this season. RB's Brown and Henry should provide a nice 1-2 punch, and PacMan Jones will make himself known on the field. This is a young team with many unproven players, but Jeff Fisher has a knack for shortening the learning curve. This is my #4 seed and I suppose is as much a pick against Indy, who I believe will fall apart this year in no small part due to the frustrations of the past several seasons. The Titans will win this rather weak division.
AFC West: San Diego Chargers. Look for Drew Brees to pick up where he left off last season. McCardell will also have a good year. The passing game will be greatly helped by the success of Ladanian Tomlinson. If this team can split the series with KC they should win their division. (#3 seed)
NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles. Yeah Yeah...they'll will not go to the NFC championship game again, T.O will get his deal and act like a jerk all year long thereby cheapening the game of football. Like the Colts I think that frustration will catch up with this team this year, but there is really no one else in their division worth a dam* (#3 seed)
NFC North: Green Bay Packers. With this most likely being Favre's last season his teammates will step it up a notch and try to send him out on a high note. Favre still has it, and when he is on the field anything can happen. Look for a team of overachievers that will make the NFC Championship game (#2 seed)
NFC West: Seatlle Seahawks. This is probably the worst Division in the NFL. Look for the Seahawks to take it with a record little better than .500. This will be the year that Hasselbeck returns to form (#4 seed)
NFC South: Atlanta Falcons...two words Michael Vick...he can do it all! (#1seed)

Who do you think will win the NFC South? You put San Diego and Pittsburgh down both as #1 seeds. Which one is #3?

I didn't follow any of it last year. Besides last year wasn't good for any fans here in the Bay Area.
Raiders: Let's see what will happen now that Moss has to learn a new style and play with the other good receivers, which may actually be a benifit if the other teams keep covering Moss all the time, and don't forget the fact he's playing outdoors in a low altitude area.
That's the best I know. Oh and Go Chargers! My secondary team.

My Eagles have looked ready to start the season since their second exhibition game. Their first units have compared well to AFC competition so far, which means they will have no problem dominating the mediocre NFC. TO's ego will not be a problem as long as he performs well on the field like he did Friday against Cincy. They are winning the Super Bowl over the Colts.
