I don't like flutes

Something about the pitch. They are unsettling at higher pitches.

that's fine..;) haven't played one in years, but it's hard to get that high for me, anyways..;)

I used to dislike the flute as well, because I thought the sound of the breath of inhalation across the opening was a 'mistake' rather than an 'enhancement' and I was embarrassed for the player.

anything that gets too 'treble' is a real problem for my ears/nerves.

Heh, yeah the pitches can get pretty high. In fact, I find it hard to practice because I need to not be around my parents if I'm gonna practice my quabin valley stuff.

It's not just the high pitch which bothers me, It is the breathy sound. I find it is okay when I am playing my fife (a small instrument which plays like and sounds like a flute) but not if someone else was playing it...
