Random question: Do you think that you experience music differently from a non AS person?

Also...
I am studying the transition to adulthood and am looking for people to participate in my project who have been diagnosed Aspergers or high-functioning autism and are between the ages of 18 and 25.

Its a 15 minute, completely anonymous survey.
I really appreciate any support!

I will gladly share the results when I am finished. The results will focus on how people with Aspergers/ HFA experience Emerging adulthood compared to non-autistic spectrum individuals

Yes. I literally feel some music like a physical sensation. I get goosebumps if I really like a song and my skin goes all prickly and buzzy. I like the sensation. On the other hand, if I don't like a song, it gives me a headache. Music, for me, is much more of a sensory experience than just what I hear.

As wildly intense as my own internal experience of music can be - I know more than enough NTs who can and do feel it the same way. That and heck, all the stuff that I've loved through the years and have gotten all kinds of chills, inspiration, and peace from - who were the people who's heads it was coming from? Most of the time NTs.

I also have it (I'm not sure if in such a high degree) but is it connected to AS? I always thought it's simply one of features that characterized me, nothing more. Words of a song are not important. And I don't know what to say when I'm being asked what singers and bands are my favourite - after all, it's not that I have my favourite ones because some songs may be really cool and some of them suck and I hate generalizing.

I think I perceive music different from others due to the fact that I'm a musician, and I don't know if it's related to AS or not. (However, I don't think I'd be a dedicated musician without AS, so in a way, it's indirectly responsible.)

I notice things more related to the construction of the music than non-musicians. Although my favorite period of music is the Baroque era, and I'm always noticing the patterns used in the composition, which I assume to be a result of AS, but I don't know...

I don't know how a non AS person perceives music, so I can't say ;). Also, I don't think the way people perceive music has to do with AS or not.

As for myself, music (or sounds) can have an intense impact on my emotional being.
