If you get the chance, see them while they are still touring. I went last night to the 9:30 Club in Washington DC. They were, as always, phenomenal. Shane kept reading the set list wrong and saying the upcoming song was actually the one that was to follow. Spider, of course, corrected him all night. They played all their best, except "Fairytale Of New York", which they did not have a female singer to do the duet with Shane like they did a couple of years ago. That song is always great to hear as a tribute to Kirsty MacColl. During “Fiesta”, Shane got into the act with Spider and banged an aluminum sheet on his head as well. You never know just how long Shane can continue in the shape he is in, so see them while you can.

Ah, the old 9:30 club. I used to blow loads of money at the 9:30 Club and The Nation Nightclub, it was usually worth every penny though. Buzzlife Productions used to host some of the best raves at The Nation before they were shut down some years back. A small Baltimore venue by the name of Studio 600 was also shut down around the same time, probably due to the Rave Act. I attended Redwood Trust in Baltimore for awhile after that, but it just wasn't the same.

Whoops I got off-topic here, sorry. I'll check out The Pogues sometime soon, they seem pretty unique in regards to their genre.

Oh, apparently Buzzlife Productions now hosts parties at "Fur Nightclub". I'm not really familiar with the place, but it might be worth a shot.
