Recently they revived the Ninja Turtles franchise and I noticed they had a new game out for the Wii (and possibly other systems). I haven't the money to get it, but I may consider it in the future.

I played three TMNT games for NES, Turtles in Time and Tournament Fighters for SNES, and the arcade games. I didn't own the original cartdriges, but my cousin and a friend had that games, so I could play them.

i only ever played the Megadrive/Genesis version of TMNT:Tournament Fighters, it's a cool game but ya need to know the moves to get far on there

I have a feeling it's was all half circle, quarter circle, dragon punch motion, charge back, then forwad moves. AmIright?

Yes, almost all the special moves were perfomed like some of the typical Street Fighter special moves. Exceptions, like Chromedome's Electric Piledriver or Shredder's reflecting shield were not difficult anyway (the later was just pressing light punch and light kick at the same time if I recall right). Then it was the two hard blow buttons for the max attack thing which was crazy. It was a very very very cool fighting game - high on my top ten favourite games list. I think I played it for months - for hours each day. (SNES)

i did, i loved the arcade like one (TMNT II) but TMNT was frustrating, that underwater bomb defusing stage troubled me as a child, but now i can rush through all the game with ease

I've played and beaten all 3 of the original TMNT NES game: 1 was hard, but I liked because of it's trueness to the Eastman/Laird version; 2 was the most fun because of it's closeness to the original Arcade version; and 3 for its similarity to the second, but with a new twist. 8)
