Spiritual, yes, interested in the paranormal, no, confused as to why people often think those are the same thing, yes.

I am a atheists, but I actually do want to believe in god. I hope someday I'll find him. I'm sick of believing when I die it's all over.

theres about as much evidence for the existence of god as there is for the existence of santa claus.

having said that in the immortal words of john lennon "whatever gets you through the night. its alright, its alright"

:D

I'm sort of spiritual. I think the law of entropy (energy can change form, but cannot be created nor destroyed) tells us that there must be some kind of afterlife. What is the difference between a dead body and living body? The living body has some sort of energy (some people would call it a soul) and because we know energy cannot be destroyed, it must go somewhere after death.

I agree with newt on this.

Religion - particularly older forms of Catholicism - is my special interest! I love the aesthetics and it gives me a blueprint and moral compass to run my life and interact with others, big selling points for people with AS.

I like Buddhist principles, but I don't follow them strictly. It's not a religion for me really, it's a philosphy.

I like to think that I have a good relationship with god and that he has a plan for me. I witnessed my mothers Catholic family blow apart at the seams from the judgemental attitude some of them had.

I remember from going to church with my grandparents that it was a bad experience. Church seemed to be a big pile of BS where people repeated statements blindly as if they didn't whole heartedly believe in them. It also seemed like a sanctuary for the "beautiful people" and they are the types that ignore and make fun of the less fortunate. I firmly believe in the idea that "We all stand naked on judgent day". I don't think god sees the sport utilities and jewlery that people deck themselves out with. That's not to say that all churches are like that.

I don't go to church probably because I was scared in my limited experiences with it. However, I think Gospel and Weslayan churches are very welcoming and non judgemental. I went to a Wesleyan summer camp which was sponsored. Some of the other kids heard that I was sponsored and they made fun of me and some of the other sponsored kids. The pastors took them in for a big life lesson and after that they were alot nicer to us. So because they are well known for sticking up for human rights they are my favorite church.

A PLAN?:

I feel like I was born to be in pain (loneliness from lack of male/female relations among other things) but yet be enlightened with a mind that understands greater things. Most of the time now, the relationship thing doesn't bother me as much as it did. I seem to have this mission to help people now and that far outweighs anything else. I think that god has a plan for me and that I have figured it out. (Has anyone ever seen the movie "Simon Birch" here? )
