I am considering buying a PS3 but do not have a HD TV to play it on. Is it advisable to get a HD TV or just play it on a regular TV?

I'd suggest buying an HD TV, you would miss a lot of the PS3 potential otherwise

If you have a PC monitor that has built in speakers I'm sure you could go that way to. Has the PS3 got a VGA cable yet?

It would be better on a hdtv because most games that are made now a formatted "letterbox"style so unless you have a big tv it will be hard to read most of the text in the game.

Am would say get the ps3 first and use with normal tv, or get the hdtv and save up for the other if cant get both, but if the ps3s games are mostly run at 60MHz,like the 360s,make sure tv is 60MHz compatible first, many of them aren't even newer ones.
