Which do you prefer to play as? Post reason, if desired.

I love the Horde, because I can put more attitude into them.

I preferred alliance mostly, horde (especially undead and blood elves) seemed really annoying to me. I did like most of the taurens, and I had several tauren characters I loved, but the rest of the horde just pissed me off too much.

Horde. The only time I ever played alliance was with a human on a private server, and the only time I'd ever consider it again would be for a gnome. But the other races... Meh. And night elves can die. =) Yay, baseless hate!

FOR THE HORDE!! !

FOR THE HOOORDE!

Draenei look tempting. But not enough. I prefer Horde. Alliance is so bland, and boring, and whimpy. And humans are the ugliest of all races in the whole of Azeroth. They make Murloc look awesome.

No offence?

Horde. They look much cooler than the Alliance races except for maybe the Night Elves. They also have MUCH better racial abilities to boot. And, to top it off, Horde dominates the server I'm on for the most part even though the Alliance have more chars! :D

(I guess it's also worth mentioning I didn't have a choice, since a guild that is run by my RL friends are Horde as well!)

Y'know, I actually haven't played alot of WoW. I'm an old school Warcraft player. But playing the Horde in the first two was always more satisfying (i've played both Warcraft I and Warcraft II several times over and over again). I played the Alliance in the one time I played Warcraft III.

For the Horde!

I don't play any more, but it will ALWAYS be Horde, if I ever went back to it.

Honestly, I think for the most part, they're the good guys, just very misunderstood. Well, we won't talk about the undead or the blood elves, but taurens and orcs are pretty cool. And by association, the trolls.

For less game based reasons:

More casuals on the alliance side, plus younger individuals. Horde tends to attract the harder core gamers, and a bit more of the mature crowd.

Because classicly they were outnumbered, the horde has a stronger sense of community. The horde will often help each other if they're being ganked; Alliance just ignore each other.

iplay wow for the sake of warcraft i & II & III. i am hooked to alliance since a friend is playing it there. But now he playes the horde but the horde looks to gritty to me ...always found the alliance the best side bit like picking a side in starwars

Oddly enough, the Horde has always struck me as more "human" than Alliance. Horde is more, in complete lack of a better word, "people". Alliance is Sovjet. I'm not sure what I mean, so there's no point in asking me.

it's always nice to know people who were familiar with the series before WoW. The first WarCraft was one of the very first games I ever finished (i was like 5 or 6 maybe).

I was always a bigger Diablo fan (I still play LAN games on the original with friends, and I play a Necro in II now. I'd really like Diablo 3 right around now)

I heard it was pretty good, but never got around to buying it.

I do have the forgotten, official (but now semi-disowned) expansion pack to Diablo I, Diablo Hellfire (made by Seirra for some reason. it's OK. not as bad as anyone says, but not anywhere above a C. It adds some pretty cool items into the game, but the new quests aren't very good (hey! let's make the player fetch a guy's moose suit! let's get them to fetch a girl's teddy bear! [these first two could only be opened by editing a text file. they're not really worth it, but they're something to do]. let's make them go into a crypt and kill the demon manifestation of Howard Stern! they'll love it!). My dad bought it when it was new, and it's very, very rare now.

Anyway back to the Warcraft series. I remember I used to spend hours wasting time creating maps with Warcraft II's little map editor program. I never played WIII as much because by the time I had a computer powerful enough to play it, other games i'd purchase had limited my play.
