I hate winter! Right now, I'm on winter break from college, and I am very worried about not being able to go out at all during this break due to the snow and my dad's paranoia about me driving in snow. Tuesday, the area where I live is supposed to get periods of snow before noon, then sleet between noon and 3 pm, then snow after 3 pm, 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible. Wednesday, snow before 9 am, mixing with rain after 9 am. Thursday, snow will be likely, and will end up mixing with rain after noon, and then becoming all snow after 9 pm. Friday, snow showers will be likely after 3 pm, and continuing into the night. Saturday will be a chance of snow showers, and Sunday will be just partly cloudy, very slim chance of snow at all. Monday, chance of snow. My god, if the snow accumulates on these assigned days, the only days I will be able to go out on are Thursday and Saturday, the only reason being that I have work on those days. I don't know, I could be wrong, but what if this semester break turns into all family and work, and no going out at all due to flippin' snow? But who knows? Maybe I am wrong, maybe I'm frettin' over nuttin', but the reason why I am frettin' over this is because if I can't go out, I can't get my haircut, and I can't look for a new, higher-paying job. I HATE WINTER!! !!

SOmebody help me please. I feel like I'm going berserk!! !! !! !! !! !!

Can't help you much, but I can tell you to be grateful that you don't have to stay overnight at work like I did a couple times in really bad storms. Once I was there for 51 hours! I didn't work all that time, mind you, but I had a presence there. And it SO sucked. There's still that chance at my new job, but it's much less probable. The other new job I'm about to start doesn't even happen on really snowy days, far as I'm told. Too much of a safety risk.

is there any chance of getting your dad to agree to someone else driving you, so you can get out, stereokid? or of him going with you to see that you are a safe driver? or what about public transport - i don't know if it's an option, but it gets round the difficulty with your dad.

it's vile when you feel cooped up like that. my condolences. :(

I had this problem last winter during break. I was living at home, had no car/license, and had to have my parents drive me to work, or anywhere else I wanted to go. Even worse, I'm not a morning person and had usually worked nights at my job in the past. But of course my parents didn't want to drive me home at 2AM, so I had to work mornings.

It sucked, but I learned my lesson and am working on campus over break for this year. It's much better, my commute is a 5-minute bike ride and I'm not on the verge of insanity from being at home constantly.

I quite sympathize. I cannot WAIT until school starts up again. ((Though I have nothing useful to say, obviously))

I personally think winter is not that bad. I live in New York.
