I had an interview early last week. They said they would contact me by Friday. Its now the following Monday. I left a message on Friday when I hadnt heard saying I was still interested etc... Tomorrow is Tuesday. If I dont hear from them tomorrow I'll call again.

Is this a bad sign? What should I do? Everything seemed to go very well. I even asked at the end cause I had a good vibe and she agreed. I was really hoping for this job.

Genral rule of thumb is to wait about 3 days in between calls, otherwise you seem over eager and some people are put off by that. Good luck with the jobthough. (and only make 3 calls total)

Sometimes they're a little late. I was told last week I'd get a response back for a second round job interview by a certain day last week. It was a few days late, but I heard in due time.

Hi,

Having hired people here are issues that cause delays -- especially this time of year:

1) Someone who needs to sign the paperwork took a day off unexpectedly.
2) End of the year paper work catches up with the interviewer.
3) Cold and flu season
4) checking references who are on vacation
5) cannot descide between two candadates

Hope this makes you feel better. Good advice to wait a few days.

It’s best to leave things for about 5 – 7 days before chasing up anything regarding the interview. Sometimes decisions are not made by the date that you were promised one. Alternatively, paperwork can get delayed in the human resources department. Once you do call them to find out what’s going on, you may be able to guess whether or not things have been successful. If you don’t get a positive answer after two calls, you may want to explore other opportunities.
Were you going to get a final decision, or are there more interviews to came after this one?
Whatever happens, the very best of luck to you!

Theres a 2nd interview. She said she was going to talk to the store manager and get back to me. So should I just let things go? Thats how I usually do it... But I really want this job so I want to show Im interested but I dont want to scare them.

Give a little space, don't seem overly eager, just try and go for interested. (wait a lttle for the call backs, so that they don't take it as being weird, people do that a lot I have noticed)

Ya its just hard because I am an unpatient person. Plus I put all my eggs in one basket. It is hard for me to do anything else until I even get a response.

Instead of calling them again this soon, send them a card thanking them for the interview. That'll remind them you exist without sounding desperate. And might even work in your favor.
