I really wish I had something to add to the list of bands that I can really dial in on right now. Currently the attitude is this though; there's at least a handful of bands who's cds I can pop in and I'll get all kinds of chills and sort of spiritual elevation off of their stuff - a couple newer to that list but most I've known since at least highschool if not junior high.

Stone Sour and Slipknot. I've recently become very fascinated with Corey Taylor's voice.

I've listened to the same song all day . . . "Lonely in Gorgeous", by Tommy February 6.

February 6 is for the birthday of the singer . . . that reminds me, my sister died on February 7 . . . she loved this song . . . I borrowed it from her "Music" folder.

Judas Priest. Specifically the album "Nostradamus."

It's overly dramatic in parts, sometimes annoying, but I identify with a lot of the lyrics. Bound to happen, as there are 23 songs!

Iron Maiden's "Somewhere In Time" album.

Wasted Years, Sea of Madness, and Stranger in a Strange Land. There is a common thread that runs through these three songs, perhaps alienation? Not sure, however all were written by Adrian, but the commonality is deeper than having the same writer.

Metal Church.

Specifically the entire album "Blessing in Disguise"
Probably the best collection of metal ever assembled in album form. Lyrics, emotion, music, all are a notch above everything else. There is something very "real" about this album, something that many others miss, cannot describe it myself, but I know it's there.

The Smiths, which is odd, because I hated them back in the 80's, and I still deeply loath Johnny Marr and Morrissey as people. But they had some good songs. Some really sucky ones too.
