I'm working on a short film and co-writing it with someone.

I dont have any experience with making films and writing one.

Is there a difference between a script and screenplay?

And do I need to put in camera instructions and shot info in the script?

Ive read a few examples which include them and most don't.

Are shots left for the storyboarding stage?

hey, I used to write some short scripts, although not professionally. I know that you're not supposed to write anything about the shot in it tho (unless you're Quentin Tarantino who even puts the soundtrack in the script ;p).

of course if you're gonna direct and produce it it's up to you. there's some templates and formatting software for scriptwriting to download from the Internet, try googling it or I'll post it here if I find it in my bookmarks. good luck!

I am writing a screenplay right now, just to see if it could be done.

Here is good a good resource:

You need to get used to 'scene action' rather than stage directions. It is quite logical though. However you might want to write it out as a story then convert it.
