One interesting thing phonominion I noticed when I was orgainzing my attic is that I've got a particularly large amount of toys and stuff left from my childhood. I took care of my toys amazingly well. For instance, my Matchbox model cars always got put back into the crates when I was finished playing with them, and I made sure not to crash them together and damage them often. I played with lego bricks a lot too, and made sure that all of the bricks were accounted for after building something. I've stil got my old trans-formers too. They have always been stored in foam packaging material ever since they were new, and are still in strikingly nice shape. I even have quite a few record albums and such from when I was young, most of the records, although a little worn, are free of any scratches. I figure this extra care that I took in keeping my stuff in good condition was an A.S. related trait. I was wondering if any of you parents observed this in your kids

I've seen my other friends' toys when I was growing up, and even kids these days seem to literally destroy toys in pretty short order. I imagine this can be rather frustrating for parents who's kids are rough on things. Whenever other kids would come over to my house, I would fuss at them for playing rough with my stuff too. Even to this day, I am meticulous about maintaining and taking good care of my possessions. For instance, my vehicles are particularly old, but get frequent oil changes, and gentle driving. I'm always walking around the outside my house looking for cracks that need repairing, or things that need cleaning and painting.

I still have my Transformers packed away somewhere, in good condition.

I still have my legos, in a box, 5 feet away from where I am sitting now.

I had some "toys that break" like Transformers, and those are gone. The die-cast cars are still around, though in a storage unit rented by my parents.

my hubby still has many of his toys from childhood~in great shape, too...when my aspie son was little, hubby made the "mistake" of giving son some of his prized cars from his childhood. son did not see things the same way...he's actually quite harsh on his toys. he will, however, keep parts of broken toys~i'm sure he's got parts to just about every toy he's ever owned.
