DS finally got his Aspergers dx yesterday. Last week he got his ASD dx but the Dr. wanted to meet with him on his own for one more appt and told us that she feels he does as AS and will be putting that has her final dx in her report. We have a feedback session later this month and then I can take the info and give it to the school.

This will knock him into the "needs to have an EA in order to function at school" category which is a huge relief. He was given an EA in March (after I raised enough of a stink for them to put one in place) and has finally settled. Last week, he had stellar back to back days for the entire week and I can't even recall the last time that happened for him. It's so great to see him flourishing and feeling more comfortable in his own skin.

His anxiety is more under control and he's sleeping better at nights. Lately his tantrums are short and he can usually be talked through it before having a huge meltdown. I think it's because we've found a good routine and I'm less stressed myself which helps him as well.

Yay! Can't wait to move forward from here!

I am happy for you, and for your son. This simple piece of paper will open doors for him when/if he needs services.

Good luck!
