So has Anybody ever taken a Art Class?

I will soon start taking a Art Class(es) soon Myself.

I have some Artists in My family. But I never have yet painted Myself. I have always wanted to in the end. Since I have the time to do it I thought it would be a good experience for Myself.

I've taken some and have had some really fun teachers. Art classes are great because I used to just work on drawings, and the classes helped me learn how to start out painting.

i love art and always have. im starting college in september and i am taking art , i plan to take art at degree level and hopefully make a career out of being a successful artist.
At high school , i was part of the "gifted and talented" in art and some other lessons , which i am really proud of.In my opinion , most people can learn to draw, i think it is a myth when people say you either can or can't draw/ paint , in my opinion , the key is to practice, and if you have talent or ability it will come out! good luck with your art classes, i really enjoyed mine and i hope you do too.

I've taken a few drawing, painting, and photo classes. They're all fun, although photo is my favorite. It always amazes me how much better you can get with some practice.

A took art classes in high school, and recently one in drawing.

The ones in Highschool where great.

The recent one was I felt more of a waste of money then anything. Only reason why I even bothered was because I wanted to do some socializing.

And guess what, nothing came from that either

I love art classes.

I started doing them because our school art teacher was into macrame and textile based art and I liked painting and drawing.

I've done watercolour type art, and general drawing.

I've done how to draw cartoons and caracatures. Painting with acrylics. And a quick Graphic design course. I've also got about ten books on how to do air brushing. I love the air brush. I'm between air supplies at the moment unfortunately. I also like going to art galleries and looking at other peoples painting. I find most visual art inspiring.

I am quite terrible at art.

In my senior year of college I took an art class (drawing) because it was required to graduate. I ended up putting in a huge amount of time and effort into that class, and still got a 'C' (which was the lowest grade I had gotten within my 3 years at WNMU (my GPA was well over 3.5), and I only got a grade that high because the teacher didn't give Ds or Fs to students who turned everything in)

It was just extremely frustrating how much effort I was putting in, yet still failing to learn the concepts. My fine motor skills are also (generally) terrible, which made my work turn out even worse.

I'm studying art at the moment. I love it. I need it. I've sort of discovered that art is the place I can feel more myself and be around NT's. It lets me be as obsessive, and weird as I can be. I can spend hours just lost in drawing or painting or whatever.

Kevv: i agree with Hollie, I also believe that with practice anyone can learn. I'd like to add that you have to be a good observer, to notice details and all that.

gsilver: what techniques did you try?

I've taken a painting class before. I had a lot of fun in it. Using acrylic paints is really fun. Sometime, I want to try using oil paints. I've heard that they are quite difficult to use, but it should be a fun challenge. :)

I've taken some art classes when I was in 4th grade during the summer, which were technically drawing lessons. I also took general art classes during kindergarten through eighth grade. If band class counts as what you would call an art class, I've been taking band class for six years at the end of this school year. Next year I'm going to be a senior in high school...how time flies by and by.

Duh, I forgot the thread title :P

I am studying graphic design, and while I haven't taken what you could call an art class, I've taken "technique classes" as part of the course, and that's where I've learned some techniques :)

Oh yeah, and I suck at acrylics, big time :P
