You are probably thinking "What the hell is that"
I tell you what: in the United States we have the weather channel which brings us 24 hours a day of national weather information, but at 8, 18, 28 so on after the hour, a little known device called the weatherstar (or its newest version the intellistar) cut in and brings us locat information. as a child i was facinated by this, every so often, the whole local forecast would change, and i did not know that such a device existed. but now i know. here in bangor maine, we hade a smaller cable outfit untill 1999, our local forecast was delivered without maps or graphics on the weather star 3000, in 1996 the face of the local forecast (lf) changed, we now had some graphics however crude, in fact i would tape the lf's to comapre them side by side. in 1999 we switched to adelphia cable and got the weather star XL with much enhanced graphics and such. in 2005 we got the latest intellistar. for further reading and a history on the system, visit

and i thought i was the only one in America interested in weather channel nostalgia.
