ah yes, kraftwerk are great. i prefer their earlier stuff, radioactivity and autobahn in particular. some other german stuff from that era i like would be cluster, and harmonia. harmonia especially have some excellent stuff, you should really check them out if you like kraftwerk.

For about 6 months when I was 17, I went to sleep most nights with 'autobahn' on autoreverse on my walkman. I think it's a fundamental part of my brain's wiring now.

Had fun rediscovering them a few years ago via Senor Coconut.

Why is it that German language versions of Kraftwerk albums are so hard to find? I've never seen Computerwelt or Die Mensch-Maschine in a store. Are those only sold in Germany or something?

yes i think they were only released in germany. i think they were reissued on cd sometime in the 1990's, as i sure i remember seeing imports of them in a couple of the music shops around here.. you might be able to pick up import copies on the net somewhere though, or you could always try finding them on soulseek or suchlike. not that i would endorse the latter option, obviously.

My flat-mate has Die Mensch-Machine and is not a German. They can be obtained. I myself have all the albums in their English form, right back to the Organisation album!

(yep, my first post in months, I thought I'd come back.....)
