Wierd Al has released a single from "Straight Outta Lynwood" entitled "Don't Download This Song"...and it one of the best written pieces of musical satire to be created in recent times. He nails the RIAA's stance on file sharing perfectly, and in the style of a folk protest tune as well. DL it now.

CNET Download (192 Kbps! NICE!)

And on a related note: Straight Outta Lynwood release= SEPTEMBER 26.

Oh, and the song "You're Pitiful" won't be on the album, but you can still get it here Dr. Demento (96 kbps)

I am so getting this cd.

I love Weird Al. Not only does he write some really clever and hilarious lyrics, but he's also a really talented musician. His movie UHF and his "Al-TV" specials are hilarious too, and I just love his quirky personality. In fact, his quirkiness combined with his extremely strong fascination with music, TV, and other pop culture makes me wonder if he's an Aspie. He's rather shy too - I can vouch for this because I met him briefly and got his autograph.

BTW, his new album Straight Outta Lynwood came out this week, and I absolutely love it, especially "Trapped in the Drive-Thru" and "Virus Alert".
