I don't care what anybody says, some of those boy bands made some good music.

If you like guitar riffs there's no reason to be embarrassed. I've got a Frank Zappa (one of the best ya know!) double CD of nothing but the best of his live guitar solos... no voice ... no saxophones ... no dramatics ... nothing but guitar ... it's called "Guitar". Highly recommend it!

One other that none of my friends get at all and laugh at - it would be embarrassing if it wasn't so DAMN good ... Bela Fleck and his various acoustic jazz recordings. I love Bela and I don't really care who knows it. They don't know what they're missing.

Dee Dee Deet ... Dee Dee Deet ... Breaking News! ... Dee Dee Deet ... Dee Dee Deet

Werbert's being wierd.

We now return to our regularly scheduled boredom.

DirtDawg - It's not the love of riffage that I'm embarrassed about, it's the fact that every 1980s rock and metal song seemed to have really stupid lyrics! I know there were some exceptions, but it's almost impossible to find a whole album that doesn't have some truly cringe-worthy lines in it somewhere.

The whole grunge / alternative rock explosion was a revelation for me.

"White Noise" as in the Lou Reed album? That's meant to be REALLY hard work! Oh no - that was "Metal Machine Music" or something, wasn't it?

I have a few things which are embarrassing. Generally I love guitar riffs, but back in the 1980s that meant listening to the juvenile sexism of AC/DC and Motley Crue or the dungeons'n'dragons whining of Ozzy Osbourne. While there are songs which I adore (e.g. "Down Payment Blues", "Dr. Feelgood" or "The Wizard"), in general they sang about complete rubbish.

I also have a secret admiration for catchy dance tunes. I adore Shanks & Bigfoot "Sweet Like Chocolate" and The Wiseguys "Ooh La La". But the best of all has to be "Them Girls" by Zig & Zag, which just RULES :D

No, white noise as in turning your radio/musical device halfway between two stations and listening to it at varying volumes.
