a couple things really.

What's it called when you feel or think people are looking at you. I was in the store today and I was certain people were looking at me like I had something on my face. I asked my wife if I had something on my face. She said no.

I also get phantom smells. Right now I can smell bacon. No one has cooked bacon in the house in a couple of weeks. My neighbor isn't either. I asked because I can smell it so strongly as if I'm over the pan.

I think certain kinds of seizure activity can cause phantom smells.

Yes, phantom smells can be a symptom of seizures, and you can have seizures without realizing it. Some, like frontal lobe seizures, occur during sleep, and the person may simply mistake them for simple tossing and turning during the night. If these smells are common, consider having yourself checked out for seizures.

The first problem could just be anxiety that heightens your awareness and self-consciousness, and makes your brain think it needs to be looking out for threats, so you perceive what other people are or aren't doing with more mistrust or suspicion. If it was paranoia, you'd likely be imaging people who were staring at you were also doing so to plot against you or had some personal motivation against you--for example, like they were doing it to make you think you were going crazy.

Seizures and episodes of anxiety can have correlations, BTW. If you are having these experiences frequently, please get checked out for epilepsy.

I didn't have a seizure.

Not all seizures involve falling on the ground and convulsing. Sometimes they look like the person spaces out for a few seconds, and that's it. With the latter type people tend not to be aware that it has happened.
