what's it called when someone goes through polar opposite mood swings just about hourly?

My sister again, one minute she's up, the next she's low. I'm wondering "WTF!?"

I've done that before.... severely, I'm diagnosed as bipolar, but anyway, if it's bad, get it checked out.

Most likely diagnoses would be rapid cycling bipolar, or borderline personality disorder.

Neither would be much fun to live with, either as the patient, or those who care for her. Hope you all, as a family, get the help you deserve.

Sorry to hear. I have bipolar with borderline features and before I began treatment I experienced this rapid cycling. Hell on earth. Even if I was aware that my thinking was not rational I could not control my emotions. The best solution Is meds.

Some guy we knew couldn't help that he had dramatic mood swings, and had medications for depression. That was a decade ago, though.

I had issues like that years ago & was originally suspected of being bipolar but was diagnosed with borderline personality. Those issues are a lot better now(still for from perfect thou) so I'm not sure I agree with the borderline personality diagnoses. I'm under teh impression that personality disorders are things that you have for a long time & take a long time to improve. Anyways... How old is your sister MasterJedi? & has she been having problems like that for a long time? If she's a younger teenager; it's possible it could be related to things like harm0ones, time of month, stress from school, relationships ect. It's not uncommon for teenage girls to be extremely moody & stuff
