Stimulates, perhaps. I don't have first hand experience, but that is what I have read.

Nootropics--again no experience here.

Sorry not more helpful. Do you have ADHD or something?

A little from dopamine-"enhancing" drugs such as selegiline, hydergine, amantadine, Requip, and Tasmar.

But the side-effects caused me too much trouble to be able to raise the dose to where it would make a big difference (too sedating, and would flatten my mood out in a way I didn't like).

Oh, amphetamines, also, but again, side-effects were too much of a problem (anxiety or sedation, depending on which stimulant).

It seems like these drugs are used strictly for parkinsons and dementia treatment. Are you aware of any psychiatric uses for them. I haven't seem much research on them. I am thinking of bipolar depression specifically.

Informative post. I just did a lot reading about hydergine and some of these other drugs.

I'm not aware of any psych uses of them, but it is quite possible that I'm under-informed. I don't know much about bipolar disorder, but as you probably know those drugs more-or-less do the opposite of anti-psychotics (which are used to treat mania sometimes?).

Oh there is a sort of psych use, in a way -- I heard some years ago of amantadine being used to treat SSRI "poop-out," and SSRI induced lack of libido. I don't know if that panned out and is still done, though.
