Speak out!

Life is a magical infection
Holding truth, love and affection
As fragile as the growing heart
Longing not to be apart
You can see, feel and hear it
And to it you will commit
Your body, your heart, your soul
Sometimes it may take its toll
But you know to me you can console
It may feel like you’re losing control
Like tomorrow, tomorrow is not worth living
And to those feelings I can be forgiving
I’ve been there, done that, got the t-shirt if you must
I’ve spilled the beans and filled people with the utter disgust
But it’s better than the alternative, the unhappiness
You’ve done no wrong and so you must confess
Please, I’m begging, don’t keep hiding
To his words, you don’t have to be abiding
I can’t bear to see you in such pain
To see you buckle under the strain
You have the strength to speak out
I know you have without a doubt
I don’t know what I would do if you were to go
So go and tell them what I already know

---

I wrote it when I heard some new statistics on abuse and other related issues, it isn't for anyone in particular, just anyone who needs a bit of a helping hand.

That's a very insightful poem. It's very well written and it gives a good message. I think we should all speak out. :)

Thank you, it is a very meaningful poem for me, learning from my own mistakes to try and help ensure others don't make the same ones.
