I don't know particularly the names of the best songs or artists but I know Safety Dance, Blinded Me with Science, anything by the Fix, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Franky Goes To Hollywood, Big Country? Its pretty much gotta be vintage .

One song that always works for me is "If You Were Here," by the Thompson Twins. It gets overshadowed by some of their other work, but an excellent song.

Another that I love is "Overkill" by Men at Work. In more modern times, Colin Hay has reworked it into a really nice acoustic song.

Y Kant Tori Read: The greatest 80's group you've never heard of. They only recorded one album, and I think it was only released in vinyl. It's out of print and hard to find nowadays. It marked Tori Amos' debut as a singer, but it bombed pretty hard.

On the other hand, Tori's solo debut "Little Earthquakes" was a smashing success.

I heartily agree. As a fellow pianist, I truly enjoy Tori Amos. She certainly has talent.

I thought the phrase "good 80's song" was oxymoronic....

Actually all of the good 80's music was never played on top 40 radio, and was instead relegated to college stations.

What about "Video Kill the Radio Star"? That was like a cover song for the 80's.
