So one of my biggest stressers is traveling, specifically traveling alone. In 2 weeks, I need to take a flight alone (to an airport I have been to a hundred times in a city I lived in for 20 years) and take 2 trains (trains I have taken a hundred times) to get to a hotel in Atlantic City (a city I have been to a hundred times) and yet I am still unbelievably stressed out! Just thinking about making sure I am to the airport on time (knowing me, I will be there at 5am for my 9am flight) then having enough time to get to the train in order to be on time for the next train is driving me nuts. My friends suggest packing all my stuff and taking it on the flight with me as a carry-on, but then I get overwhelmed with the thought of what if I can't use that as a carry-on! If I was traveling with a coworker, for some reason, my mind would be at ease. Knowing someone else is going to be in the same boat (or train or plane) makes me chill out and not freak.

Any other Aspies bad about this stuff like me? Or is this some non-aspie thing I tend to go thru that is just normal stress? If anyone else goes thru this, any advice, or what do you usually do to manage the stress?

I get stressed with all the airport security BS. The Missus helps me stay calm, or otherwise I'd start shouting at the staff ! !!

Why not take along something you enjoy, to de-stress? I take a favorite magazine to read in-flight instead of the usual crap.

I will have my laptop, PSP, Nintendo DS and possibly an MP3 player along with me :) Its not the waiting or the doing, its the thought of being late or missing a flight/train that gets me the worst.
