I can't be the only fan of this band ('specially their older stuff...) around here.

I used to sit in my room for hours poring over the lyrics and reading the dictionary / thesaurus for hours... ahhhh those were the fun old days... :)

Anyone? And if so, favorite song(s)?

I like some of Bad Company's songs, but I have never heard of Bad Religion.

The only artists I know with the word Bad in it are:

Bad News - The comic strip presents parody of metal bands. Hilarious.

Bad Manners - a nutty ska band as nutty as Madness.

I can't say I really got into em hardcore but I can say I used to see em on headbangers ball back in the 90's (and yeah, that 21 century digital track is what sticks out in my mind when I think of em - probably not their best since Mtv has a knack for grabbing the most watered down song an artist has, but, its what I know). Also I was at Van's Warp Tour back in 1999 with some of my buddies and I was down in their mosh pit for a while, they do put on a decent live show.

I like (early) Bad Religion but im much more of a post-punk fan than a hardcore fan
If you think Bad Religions lyrics are intence you should try(It can be difficult)
listining to Crass the english anarco-punk band a review of their debut album
the feeding of the 5000 stated "I cant imagine anyone llisting to this for pleaseure"
which sums them up perfectly.

"Generator" is an excellent album... right now I'm obsessing over a song on "Suffer" (I listened to it 12 times today, on my mp3 player on the way to work and on break...):

1000 More Fools

I heard them say that the meek shall reign on earth
phantasmal myriads of sane bucolic birth
I've seen the rapture in a starving baby's eyes
inchoate beatitude
the Lord of the flies
so what does it mean
when your mind starts to stray?
kaleidoscopic images of love on the way
brother you'd better get down on your knees and pay
1000 more fools are being born
every f*****g day

they try to tell me that the lamb is on the way
with microwave transmissions
they bombard us every day
the masses are obsequious
contented in their sleep
the vortex of their minds ensconced within
the murky deep

I've listened to Crass a bit but it's too cacophonous for my ears...
