Yea, post 1K for me!

I returned to my grocrey stocking job last night after a 9 month sabatical. Needless to say as I found out, my shift is a show case of mental disorders.

I worked with five other people, all of whom were hired after I left work back in september. As I found from my manager, my shift is freak show of mental disorders.

There's myself and my list of issues.

One person is bi-polar and is not medicated for it

Another has Paranoid Schizophrenia and is heavily medicated

One is dyslexic

One has ADHD

And my shift manager suffered brain damager after falling off a car during a failed attempt at body surfing some 15 years ago.

did these people just openly tell you about their issues? geesh

No, my manager all told me about them, and to be careful around the bi-polar and the paranoid.

From what I understand, the bi-polar was having a "good" night (and you could tell that from his extreme happy mood.) but that his "good" nights have for seeminly no reason turned into "bad" nights.

The paranoid has his condition kept in check with meds, however there have been times where he didn't take them and he's had episodes at work, which from what I was told can be quite interesting or scary depending upon the mood he goes into.

He may have meant well, but he's violated their trust and probably the law. What's he saying about YOU?

Sounds like your boss is applying positive discrimination. NTs need not apply?

Certain job fields or categories do tend to have higher concentrations... a friend of mine worked in a factory for a long time, they used to get a lot of people with 'problems' too, some mental, a lot of addictions - the boss used to say he liked gambers because they'd always turn up for work, they need the money.

What I find interesting is that your
employer was brave to have such

1)...What shift does it apply?
2)...How long were these people
there when you returned?

Hmmmm?.....What I mean is
did you have them as co-workers
before you left for school?
If not, What is going through
your employers head as a reason?

have occured since and before this
thread because I find this intriguing!

I know the answer to that. He bad mouths everyone to everyone else. I don't really care though, all of us bad mouth him behind his back also.




This is working overnights. Most of them have only been there for a month or two.

I got to work with the paranoid last night, him and I got along quite well, much better in fact than the NT's I had to work with last summer.

I figure it's only fitting that I'd hit it off with some one who has Schizophrenia...

lol, I had a guy come up to me at the beach a while ago, he just started chatting away, it turned out he has 'schizoaffective' (knew there had to be something for him to talk to me so easily) which is like mild schiz + bipolar, he was a lot of fun....must've been on a 'high' at the time I spose. I enjoyed talking to him a lot more than I do NTs.
