It sounds like that project requires more than competence at computer programming. So perhaps it falls outside the scope of "Computer Studies".

However, it also sounds like just the sort of thing that a computer programmer does to make a living. It might've been a valuable experience, even if stressful. Unless the stress was intolerable.

In the past I've tried to avoid 'group' type projects most of the time, especially when other group members don't seem motivated to do anything.

I don't think you should have had the right to do an alternative project for the class. Some degree of socializing is a necessary skill to being a succesful computer programmer, just like coding itself.

Get the practice now, while the only penalty for failing is doing badly in the class. Better to make yourself learn it than graduate without ever having learned it and fail to get a job because of it.
