Has anyone else seen this movie? I saw it tonight and really noticed that one of the characters, Noah, had some definite autistic spectrum traits - I'm not going to say what they are, because I'm curious if anyone else got this impression of him . . . maybe it is just because autism is so on my mind lately . . .

By the way, this is a rough movie, so don't go out and see it just to see Noah to see if you think he's autistic . . . it is VERY emotional so don't go see it if you can't handle that sort of thing . . .

I saw the movie the week it came out.. and I too thought the same about Noah- and that he indeed showed autistic type behaviors-

I can really even see autistic traits in his reaction to Ivy getting married (can I explain this without giving away too much of the plot?) - the inability to really deal with emotions - you can really see how confused he is when he comes to the door - though I would think most of us would be more prone to temper tantrums than violence

I think that this is very true- and I also think that his inability to realize that his actions caused something dreadful to happen for Ivy....
but I think that when she attacked him in anger and grief that he understood that she was upset and in pain over it.....
resulting in his final actions....
His functioning was on the lower end, so I think the aggression is most likely from that standpoint...

I was thinking that he just knew that Ivy was really angry with him - but now that I think about it . . . I suppose that was an attack . . .

But, yeah, he is really, really low functioning HFA or sort of high functioning traditional autism . . .

Looks just like one of the people I like to be around's husband, too (I mean, cleaned up and all, Chris is rarely that goofy)
