It's cello metal but I think it could be loosely described as classical.
I might have heard them on PRI's "Echoes". There was a program titled "Cello Delights"
featuring Yoyo Ma and his "Silk Road Ensemble", Apocalyptica, and a few others.
Another "Modern Classical" composer I'm into is Phillip Glass.
He composed the soundtrack for "KOYAANISQATSI (Life Out Of Balance)",
POWAQQATSI (Life In Transformation)" and "NAQOYQATSI (Life As War)"*.
These are Documentaries that have no narration, no dialog, just music and images.
P. Glass' newest album is "Glass Works", it was featured on "Echoes" a few weeks
ago.
