It reminds me of a portrait of Dante Alighieri...If I can find the one I mean I'll post it.

someone from the academy told me the same, i googled a bit, and it's true it does resemble Dante
but there is really some particular portrait it makes me think of also with some kind of hat, something i did encounter more than once in my life, like a famous painting of some mediaval royalty or something
(it is driving me crazy ! 8O )

My husband's puzzling about it now, hehehe. I showed it him and he said it reminds him of an old portrait too, but not the Dante...will let you know if he remembers. :)

I know it's not him...but along those lines? Hmm, Hubbo thinks it maybe a portrait of one of the Medici family.

I've had a quick look at Rembrandt, Raphael and Botticelli but I can't find him...yet, lol. It's got to be Italian Renaissance I think? (Don't worry, this is no problem for me, I don't need an excuse to delve around this period in art. I love it! :lol:)

i'll google the medicis when i got a little bit more time,
now essay writing

it's true it's nice to browse those paintings with a certain purpose,
but it's slightly annoying i can't find it (and a little akward too, like is it someone from the inquisition or an interesting inventor, or ...) ... grrr
