I would hope it doesn't involve killing. It's more about not letting those who dislike us walk all over us. Peace is much better, but that requires that both sides want to get along and are willing to do what it takes to coexist.

Lilly Allen does "send up music". The music is good but the lyrics are commical.

Weird Al Yankovitc and Catatonia do similar.

I would say this is more roots rock and roll than country, although both came from the same source--e.g., early rock and roll act Bill Haley and the Comets actually started doing country.

As far as western goes, it's not even close. Modern western music is something called red dirt, which is what I'm partial to.

Having said this, the music on this video is normally only done by Americans. So, it's interesting to see how Brits do it, and she did a very good job.

I had classes with a girl some years ago who was of the opinion, if it ain't country, it ain't music. I don't think so! To me, if it is country (with the exception of bluegrass, which I can stomach in small quantities), it ain't music. At least, what currently passes for country music. Mom and Dad were very heavy into Roy Acuff, Stringbean, Grandpa Jones, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, Porter Waggoner, Buck Owens, Roy Clark, and Dolly Parton. Come to think of it, my paternal grandmother's side of the family were all pretty good bluegrass and country gospel musicians. What they couldn't figure out about me was why I liked classical music and opera over what they played. I got into a lot of arguments because of that.

I actually do like the song in the first post.

The video's not that good, but I like the song.

It has over 100 plays in my iTunes library.

Speaking as one who can't stand country, I have to ask: should ANYONE be playing country?!?!?!
