This has been the most hardest list I have ever started. Just trying to find a comprehensive 10 countdown is hard, let alone 20! But here is the first set of years, starting from when I was born. 2) Bathory - Blood Fire Death
3) Voivod - Dimension Hatross
4) Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
5) Testament - The New Order
6) Ministry - The Land of Rape and Honey
7) Napalm Death - From Enslavement to Obliteration
8. Suicidal Tendencies - How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today?
9) Manowar - Kings of Metal
10) Sabbat - History of a Time to Come

South of Heaven by Slayer just misses out on 1988, that doesn't mean I don't like it! :? Part 2 coming soon. Yes, my top 10 are essentially metal and rock, but I really can't get into other genres, but you will be pleasantly surprised later.

Okay, cool, I'll keep my posts to top 10 albums in the eighties for this thread. I'm actually kind of in a rush right now but I did manage to put together a top 10 for the year I was born, 1985. I will do the other eighties years later when I have time...

1985:
1. SLAYER – Hell Awaits
2. BATHORY – The Return…
3. CARNIVORE – self-titled
4. THE SISTERS OF MERCY – First And Last And Always
5. KREATOR – Endless Pain
6. POSSESSED – Seven Churches
7. AMEBIX – Arise!
8. BULLDOZER – The Day of Wrath
9. THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN – Psychocandy
10. RAZOR – Evil Invaders

Ouch, it hurts to leave Celtic Frost "TMT", Sepultura's "Bestial Devastation" EP and Killing Joke's "Night Time" out.
"Bonded By Blood" is another real classic from your list I enjoy as well. :D

1986-1989 will come later. :)

I wonered why so much metal was being sold, then I realised this is your personal top ten.

To see how it compares to an average from 11000 album charts, CLICK HERE
