I could give a book as a Xmas present for my mom, but I need ideas

It should meet the following criteria:
-has some warmness, concerns relationships between people or something like that
(-religious themes are bonus but not necessary)
-conventional style, no any modernistic oddities or vulgar content
-not far too famous (not a kind of book that "everybody" has read like Jane Eyre or Buddenbrooks)
-famous enough to be available in Finnish

I gave "My childhood" by Maxim Gorky a couple of years ago. It is a good example of a book which meets those criteria.

My mom always talks about wanting to read "The Help" and "Eat, Pray, Love". Her tastes are quite similar to your mother's so I think she would enjoy those (assuming they are available in Finnish, that is.)

There's a collection of novellas and short stories that speaks about human interests and the causes that spurs us on. The stories range from crime to drama.

It's called Wetland and Other Stories and is available from Amazon.
