Lovely...I have always liked the French carol which was your inspiration, used to play it on a wooden fife every Christmas at church. Yours is a nice variant, familiar enough but not predictable. Nicely done--thanks for sharing! Happy Christmas!

Sounds like Patapan, which, if I recall, is a Basque carol.

Read my description ;)
I actually intended to do an improvisation of Patapan at first, then decided to make my very own melody.

I used soundfonts from Early Patches and a VST Medieval Legends (harp, lute and zither) and played the melody in FL Studio using my keyboard (pc-keyboard to type with, not a MIDI keyboard,
because I cannot play on a piano...).

that was VERY cleverly done! :thumleft: especially using a pc keyboard :o btw, did you know there is a free download called "miditzer" which is an emulation of a theatrical Wurlitzer pipe organ [the kind in old silent movie theatres with all the percussions and sound effects such as sirens and trainwhistles and such]? it works on either the pc keyboard [in abbreviated fashion] or on a MIDI keyboard via breakout box.
