I wouldn't mind a guide to drawing hands and Anime heads! :D

Note that in the hands page the drawing order is inverted, in japan they read right-left

Yes I saw that. Huh, I guess I should've been more specific. In fact, I'm a bit stupid because I didn't mean Anime. I suppose it was Anime-esque. I like the realistic sort of way, or at least less pointy chins. Wish I scanned that drawing of Daisuke. Try looking at my Drawing tribute YouTube video to see my drawing style: (BTW, that first one I did five years ago)

hehe, just kidding.

I understood that so I uploaded some tips for drawing in manga style...

Please be more specific/clear; also, I want to see the video but it's labeled private...

*award*

Damn, I uploaded the ACTUAL video on another computer. It's uploading to my Photobucket account now.

Generally speaking, I want to abolish the pointy chin and (as is frequently,) noses, to make for a more realistic style yet it still looks like Anime (Daisuke is a good (and the only) example, you'll see him in the movie). I really just need practice in drawing humans...

Hi man, had no internet so no chance to reply, but now I'm back :D

I'll check what I have and post later.

Very nice drawings KBABZ, the pencil lines look like you are confident (as in self-confidence) of your hand, that's nice :)

Thanks! *award*

I don't use and guides when I'm drawing, I usually start a Renon drawing by doing the head first as a circle (Renons are aliens), then draw the neck and shoulders and a bit of the arms, then the body/abdomen/whatever-you-call-it, finish the arms, sketch the feet, draw the legs, finish the feet, and finally the ever-dreaded hands.

For those I've found my old version was a good starting point! I used to draw hands as blobs because I couldn't be bothered when I was 13! Now I use the blob as template for the palm. I sketch the palm, and then, (using my own as a template when I first started) drew the fingers and thumb. I decided to not take the easy way out and have them have three fingers and a thumb and include the whole set.

I think my best hand yet is from a recent drawing:

The fist is one I'm particularly proud of. :D

I never learned to draw the normal way with steps like that. Maybe that's why I'm no good at drawing people.
