Welcome Gardenia_guy

When you say it was hard keeping it to yourself, does that mean you informed others, or others figured it out and you didn't try and cover it?

Same thing happened to me. As a child, the teasing hurt. There are few adults in my life who bully. It amuses me that others still think I'm gay, when instead, I'm actually mtf trans.

They say gender identity for trans starts out at a very young age often. I think it's partly due to us having Aspergers, that our feelings for gender identity happen later on in life. So I would suggest waiting until your parents die before making your decision. Whether or not to undergo pointless surgery to make you "look" like a girl or just ignore it all together and hope technology in the future will make a true transition biologically. Me, I'm more on the latter, just waiting until technology improves or not, and letting my parents lives be my own timer. If nothing improves by then, I will take my own life.

living for other people and hiding who you are is awful. When I came out as lesbian my parents rejected me BUT my life became open and much better.

Of course it's awful, but unless one wants to be selfish and has a large enough self-esteem to make it out on their own when rejected, it's pretty much the only way.
