The "Immaculate" Saga

Okay so I've had an idea for a story series for quite a few years now (I think I made a post about something related last year). It's changed a lot over the years and finally got somewhere that I beleive makes more sense. Basically it is a religious sci-fi fantasy series that I am calling "Immaculate" for now. I am basing it loosely on Christianity and the Holy Bible only because they are so well known. It concerns the classic eternal battle of good versus evil in the form of an ancient angel/demon war. The back story is that God put the angels on the planet Altissima, where the kingdom of Heaven is located. But somehow Lucifer and many others succumbed to darkness and turned into demons. Darkness is an infectious, spiritual substance that actually makes angels sick and turns them into demons (the disease is called demonia). After untold years of war (neither side can be killed since they are immortal but demons try to infect as many angels as they can), a substance was finally created that could successfully repel demons. It is what we know as DNA although in "Immaculate" it stands for darkness-neutralizing acid. Basically it is an acid that can burn demons and sends them to a "quarantine" planet called Abaddon (where Hell is). So nature was installed on Earth (the only planet DNA could exist on) in order to keep demons sealed on Abaddon. However, some of the more powerful demons can become resistant to DNA and escape Abaddon and so Adam and Eve were created as organic super-soldiers to fight them. They were created with demon-repulsion systems (DRS) which gives them angelic superpowers to fight demons. However, souls could still be infected by darkness from Abaddon even from across the Universe. Satan manipulated Adam and Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge and this effectively nullified the abilities of their DRS. Over generations the DRS atrophied and dissappeared but its DNA code still remained. In a very rare occurrance, some people are born with a functional DRS and are called upon to fight demons. An angelic organization called the Demon Elimination Agency (DEA) has been created for this purpose. Also in the back story is that angels (their souls actually) from Altissima are sent to Earth to take up mortal form as humans but the process erases their memories (explaining how we start knowing nothing and have to learn things). This is in the hopes that their body's compliment of DNA can make them more darkness-resistant and prevent infection. Oh and Satan's plan is to destroy all life on Earth so that he and his demons can escape Abaddon and get revenge on God.

Now for the present, which I'm thinking of making in the year 2012 or so. I have no setting but the main character is this 27 year old guy called Demarest. He works at a nature preserve and is one of the most dedicated and respected naturalists of the time but he is very humble about it. When he is tasked with taking a wildlife survey of an unknown section of the preserve, he is captured by cultists that have taken residence in an abandoned military bunker hidden deep in the woods there. They call themselves the Immaculate Children and beleive that the Immaculate Conception is a message to mankind to resist carnal temptation (they beleive that virgins can become immortal and gain angelic powers). They need an "impure" soul to bring in an angel called Sakira that will make them all immortal and Demarest happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (since he has had sex). However, Sakira is really a very powerful succubus demon posing as an angel and when she is summoned, she kills all of the cultists and Demarest. Demarest is ressurected by the DEA because his body forms a demon-repulsion system in response to Sakira and how much he cares about life, nature and love. He now has to use it fight and kill Sakira before she can cause destruction on Earth. He is the only one who can do it because his DNA has formed a specific counter-protocol against her.

That's the gist of it and I have ideas for a trilogy. The first book will occur on Earth where Demarest has to hunt down Sakira. I figure the next book will occur on Altissima after Demarest dies a normal mortal life on Earth. Because of Sakira, demons now know thay can possess virgin human souls and I think they will use that to attack Altissima by entering Heaven through virgins that get sent there. Demarest and the rest of the DEA must join forces to wipe out the invaders and many angels get infected during the battle. For the third book it will take place on Abaddon where Demarest will have to destroy whatever it is Sakira has done that allows demons to possess virgins. For added drama, he may also have to fight Sakira again and maybe his wife or kids that get infected. At this point though I don't really know where it could go. It still has a lot of holes that need to be filled and other things that need better explaination. I also feel this story will be highly controversial due to its religious undertones (it's not going to be "preachy" though). The main reason I wanted to write it was because I wanted to get my own Aspergian frustrations and beliefs out there and they would manifest themselves in the Immaculate Children (who basically tell Demarest that sex, alcohol and many other human vices and society itself are evil). Yet now I just want to write it because I think it's a cool idea and maybe demons could be the new zombies or something. Just wondered what anyone else thought.
